Quality Assurance department is the largest in the industry.
With over 180 professionals located around the world, this
team is dedicated to only one mission: to deliver SYSCO®
Brand products that meet the most exacting standards in
terms of quality, safety and consistency. To ensure our
customers' success and piece-of-mind, SYSCO®'s Merchandising
and Marketing departments work closely with our global
Quality Assurance team to initiate detailed product
specifications and audits in the growing fields, in the
production facilities and in our redistribution centers.
SYSCO® Quality Assurance
Quality You Can Count On
Comprised
of chemists, food scientists and other technical service
experts, our Quality Assurance team has the authority to
disapprove any supplier who fails to meet SYSCO®'s rigorous
quality parameters, and to recall any product from the
marketplace. These professionals are given a high level of
autonomy to make these sensitive and crucial decisions.
Special care is also taken with key product lines where
safety is a concern and where product consistency may vary -
such as with fresh and processed meat, poultry, seafood and
produce.
Through written product specifications and continual on-line
inspections during the processing of SYSCO® Brand products,
the Quality Assurance team functions as SYSCO®'s eyes and
ears through all stages of SYSCO® Brand product development.
Such close monitoring guarantees our customers consistently
safe, wholesome and high-quality products.
